WhatPulse 2.4.1b2 - smitmartijn - 08-01-2014 09:14 PM

Hi,

It's been a while, but I've uploaded the first public version 2.4.1! (b1 was semi-private).

This is a maintenance release mostly focussing on support for new operating systems and performance of the client. Your database will be significantly reduced in size after running 2.4.1b2 for a while, as it deletes mouse points from your mouse heat-map older than 3 months (there's an option to keep it).

There's also some new stuff, the coolest being the realtime average keys and clicks per second and realtime bandwidth stats inside the Geek Window.

Have a go and let me know what you think! :-)

Downloads:
- Windows: http://files.whatpulse.org/beta/whatpulse-win-2.4.1b2.exe
- OS X: http://files.whatpulse.org/beta/whatpulse-mac-2.4.1b2.dmg
- (sorry, no Linux for this one)

Changes:

...and the client still does not record keystrokes in GRID 2.

Probably mentioned this a few times, but there's nothing I can do about that. The game locks out apps from the keyboard. Also, if it's not in the release notes, you shouldn't expect a change. ;-)

It's working on Yosemite alright.

It only thinks it's virtualized, but it's not.
I do have my VM running with Windows though Smile

It would be nice if it monitored my swipes aswell.

- The geek window is now visible in the taskbar.

- This isn't a new issue (particular to this release), but after clicking on an application in the application list, the summary of that single application will show ("Summary of [application]"). The issue here is that, without closing and re-opening the client, a user cannot see the summary of the total stats again ("Summary"). I propose that clicking in a blank space within the application table should make the summary display the total stats again.

Just click on the row that says "total" and it will send you back to summary stats

Thanks a lot for doing this, hopefully it's all it takes for fixing the bug of some new applications not uploading at all. There was no confusion. I've waited literally weeks for some new applications and they never loaded, even after repeated use. I don't really wanna go off topic about it though.

Myself I'm really excited for the realtime keys per second in the geek window, it's exactly what I wanted.

The database pruning is also nice, but if the mouse heatmap is the one causing all that extra memory hog, could you make an option to disable it altogether, without disabling mouse clicks? All of my heatmaps end up looking like this anyway http://i.imgur.com/dutMhxv.png , and I think there's another underlying issue I'm having with some games and the fact that it hooks the mouse location or something like that.

EDIT: I seem to be having a problem with the Windows download, it's very slow (takes about 10-15 mins), and after downloading it the setup says: "The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program." It happened on the second download as well.

Where is this row?

Right here: [Image: WhatPulse-2.4.1b2.png] - and if you're talking about the input stats, the summary stats can be found on the first (keyboard) tab.

Have a look at this, which has been in the client for quite some time:

Try again later if your internet connection is slow, I've seen 341 downloads so far and none reported a problem.
