I have noticed a similar issue with my client (2.8.4), though the problem typically eresolves on its on and does not seem to affect any actual statistics in the database (client or website). As far as I have been able to tell the issue is isolated to what your client indicates are your global rankings. refreshing your account status may fix the issue.
